For the past few days, MLAs from the tribal community have been protesting for various demands, including Dhangar reservation and PESA recruitment. These MLAs even jumped onto the protective net from the third floor of Mantralaya. This included MLA Kiran Lahamate from the Ajit Pawar group, along with Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Narhari Zirwal.
PESA recruitment has been stalled for some time, and students are demanding that it be resumed as soon as possible. In addition to this, a committee has been formed by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to consider including the Dhangar community in the tribal category, and a draft law is being prepared for that. However, this inclusion is being opposed by tribal MLAs, including Narhari Zirwal.

Speaking on the matter, Narhari Zirwal said, "Students from the tribal community are protesting for PESA recruitment. What use is it to the tribal community that elected us if all their festivals are held here? Not a single leader has gone to see them. We have discussed this with the government, but nothing has come of it. That is why we made this decision. I am a tribal first, and then the Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly." At this time, Narhari Zirwal was seen shedding tears.
In response, Ajit Pawar group MLA Kiran Lahamate spoke to TV9 News. "Students from the tribal community have been protesting for PESA recruitment for the past two months. We discussed this with the government on August 29, and the issue was expected to be resolved by September 15. But no decision was made. We protested again on September 30, and were told a decision would be made in two days. Yet, nothing has happened. Since then, we have been requesting a meeting with the Chief Minister. However, as no time was given, the MLAs lost their patience, leading to some, including Narhari Zirwal, jumping from the third floor," he said.
