Mumbai – The Maratha community in the state has been staging silent rallies from last few months. These are the main demands of the protesting community: 1) The hearing of Kopardi rape case should be held in Fast Track Court
2) Accused should be hanged
3) Reservation should be given to the Maratha community
4) Atrocities Act should be reformed to prevent its misuse
5) Immediate implementation of the Swaminathan Committee recommendations
6) Farmers’ loans should be waved completely
7) An institution for skills development, jobs should be formed in the name of Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj
8) Chhatrapati Shivaji Memorial work in the Arabian Sea should be completed by 2017
