The changing dynamics of entry-level employment positions in key functional segments in GCC (Global Capability Centers), IT Products & Services and non-tech sectors for FY 2024-25, highlights Teamlease Digital's analysis. The data shows the demand for fresh talent and predicts expected salaries, which provide insight into how the financial year will shape India's growing workforce.

In Mumbai, Product Management, Data Science and Data Engineer are leading among the most popular tech positions offering impressive salary packages of INR 19.5 lakh per annum, INR 14.5 lakh per annum and INR 10 lakh per annum respectively. Also the positions in DevOps, Full Stack Development Software Development and Data Analytics offer very competitive salaries ranging from INR 7.9 Lakhs per annum to INR 8.3 Lakhs per annum.

Salary and Functional Domains:

It further pointed out that the software development and engineering domain, which focuses on coding, designing and managing software applications, is poised to offer attractive opportunities. Increasing demand for AI/ML skills in software development to increase productivity, accuracy and innovation is further accelerating this trend. As a result, entry-level positions in these domains are expected to see an average salary of INR 9.37 lakh per annum in GCC, INR 6.23 lakh per annum in IT products and services and INR 6 lakh per annum in the non-tech sector by the end of FY 2024-25.

GCCs are expected to lead the way in the cyber security and network administration domain, an important area that ensures the protection of IT infrastructure, with an average salary of INR 9.57 lakh per annum, which is 40.12 percent higher than their IT counterparts. This shows a significant need for skills in identifying vulnerabilities as well as addressing risk exposures. Also IT products and services can pay INR 6.83 lakh per annum and non-tech sector can pay INR 5.17 lakh per annum.

Information about high demand job positions and sectors:

For the financial year 2024-25, GCC is giving preference to the posts of Penetration Tester, Data Scientist, Full Stack Developer, Software Developer and Customer Success Specialist with salary ranging from INR 8.8 lakh per annum to INR 11.8 lakh per annum. The IT Products and Services sector is looking for Big Data Developers, IT Auditors, RPA Business Analysts, Cloud Security Engineers and IoT Engineers with a salary range of INR 6.9 Lakhs per annum to INR 9.7 Lakhs per annum. Non-tech sectors are focusing on posts such as Data Engineer, SAP ABAP Consultant, Cloud Support Engineer, Cyber Security Analyst and Automation Engineer with a salary of Rs 6 lakh per annum to INR 9.4 lakh per annum.
