Popular Television Actors who passed away in 2020

TV and Bollywood actor Narendra Jha passed away on March 14 at the age of 55. Jha took his last breadth at his farmhouse in Wada, where he was on a vacation with wife Pankaja Thakur after getting a minor stroke. He suffered a massive heart attack. Jha is known for his works in films like Raees, Haider, Kaabil and many more.

Tamil TV actress and host, VJ Chitra was found dead in a hotel room on December 9. It is alleged that she committed suicide.

Sameer Sharma, last seen in “Yeh Rishtey Hai Pyaar Ke” was found dead at his residence in Mumbai on August 5. Sharma was known for his roles in shows like Kyunki Saas BHi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Left Right Left, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Du –Ek baar Phir among others. According to police, he had committed suicide by hanging himself.

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actor passed away on December 7 at a Mumbai hospital following COVID-19 complications. The 34-year-old actress, while shooting for Tera Yaar Hoon Main tested positive for coronavirus and was suffering from pneumonia as well.

The 26-year-old actor, best known for playing Amar Chaudhary in superstar Salman Khan's Ready, died of cancer. Mohit Baghel passed away on May 23 in his hometown Mathura, Uttar Pradesh.

Leena Acharya died of kidney failure in Delhi on November 21. The actress was suffering from kidney ailments for around two years. Her mother had donated her a kidney but even the organ donation didn't work for the actress.

The 26-year-old television actor Akshat Utkarsh from Bihar was found dead in his rented apartment in Mumbai’s Andheri area on September 27. Akshat allegedly died by suicide and was suffering depression due to lack of work. His family, however, had dismissed the depression narrative, claiming that the aspiring actor was murdered.

The 25-year-old actress committed suicide on May 25. The actress, who has been a part of shows like Crime Patrol, Laal Ishq and Meri Durga, was found hanging at her residence in Indore in Madhya Pradesh. Preksha has also worked in the Akshay Kumar-starrer Pad Man.

Anupama Pathak was found hanging at her rented flat in Mira Road area of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region on August 2. The 40-year-old actress who was from Bihar, was seen in several Bhojpuri films and TV shows. Anupama Pathak in her suicide note mentioned financial issues as one of the reasons for taking her life.

The 28-year-old actress was fighting a battle with cancer for the last year and a half, however, she lost her battle and died on July 12. Divya Choksey wrote on her Instagram story as the last post before she died that she is on a death bed.

Actress Sejal Sharma, who had worked in the show Dil Toh Happy Hai Ji, committed suicide at her rented flat in Royal Nest society at Mira Road in January. However, her mother has claimed that the actress was not depressed and had even got a leading role in a show.

Actor Mishti Mukherjee, who worked in Hindi and Bengali films, died of kidney failure on October 2. Mishti made her Bollywood debut with Life Ki Toh lag Gayi in 2012. She had also appeared in a number of music videos.
