93.1 percent of the BKC-Kulaba phase of the Colaba-Bandra-Seepz metro 3 route has been completed. Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) is planning to put BKC-Acharya Atre Chowk, Worli Phase 2A into service by the end of March. 


Accordingly, the work of 'Phase 2A' has also been speeded up. 98.9 percent of these stations have been completed. The architectural and system work of 'Phase 2A' will be completed soon. Also, in order to enter it into the transport service, action will be taken to obtain the safety certificate.


The MMRC is working on the first metro in Mumbai. The approximately 12 km Aarey-BKC section of the 33.5 km metro line was commissioned in October 2024. This route is still not getting the desired response from passengers. However, the response will increase if the entire Aarey - Colaba route is brought into service.

So now the plan is to complete the work of BKC-Colaba phase as soon as possible for the operation of Aarey- Colaba 'Metro 3' route. A few days ago, the state government directed the MMRC to make the BKC-Acharya Atre Chowk, Worli phase operational within 100 days.


93.1 percent of total work on the BKC-Colaba route has been completed. Meanwhile, 98.9 percent of the stations in the BKC-Worli 'Phase 2A' route on the BKC-Colaba route have been completed.


System work in BKC – Worli Phase 2A has been accelerated. Accordingly, the work of the system has been completed at 85.8 percent. The work of this phase will be completed in the next few days and action will be taken to obtain the safety certificate. It is likely that the BKC-Worli subway line will be operational by the end of March.
