Traffic congestion problem

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority was earlier responsible for the construction of Metro 11. MMRDA had planned the route of Metro 11 between CSTM and Wadala, but since about 70 percent of the 11 routes are underground, the construction of the route was given to MMRC. The first DPR of this metro line was prepared by MMRDA, but in the earlier DPR Gateway of India, Byculla, Nagpada, Crawford Market were not connected to the metro. Traffic is a major problem throughout this complex.

Metro will benefit

Everyone who comes to Mumbai comes to visit Gateway of India and shop at Crawford Market. Currently people get down at CSTM railway station and reach Crawford Market or Gateway of India by road. In such a situation, the journey of the passengers will be easier till this complex is connected to the metro. At the same time, a station of Metro 3 Corridor is also being constructed at CSTM. So people can easily reach their destination through metro or rail.
