Mumbai Metro Line 3, also known as the Aqua Line, will have a temporary shift in operating hours for next two days, April 25 and 26.

This announcement was made on Thursday, April 24, through Mumbai Metro 3's official social media handle, citing technical reasons for the temporary revision.

According to the official statement, Metro 3 services between Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) to Aarey stretch will run from 6:30 am to 9:30 pm on Friday, April 25, and 7:30 am to 9:30 pm on Saturday, April 26.

Officials have urged commuters to plan their journeys accordingly, noting that the temporary inconvenience comes ahead of upcoming service expansions.

It is pertinent to note that this development comes ahead of the launch of Phase 2 of the Mumbai's first ever underground metro. The Phase 2 of Metro Line 3, which extends the route from Dharavi to Acharya Atre Chowk in Worli, is in the final stages of preparation.

On March 11, official stated that with Phase -1 of Metro 3 already operational, MMRC is now gearing up for Phase 2! Phase 2 (BKC to Cuffe Parade) has achieved 93% progress, while the overall project stands at 95%.

While the temporary change in timings may cause minor disruptions, officials say the inconvenience is a small price to pay for the larger vision of building a faster, more accessible and more efficient transit system for the city.

Currently, the Aqua Line’s Phase 1, spanning from Aarey to the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), is operational and has been serving thousands of daily riders since its launch. Covering 12.44 kilometers and including 10 stations, this section offers 96 trips a day between 6:30 am and 10:30 pm, cutting commute times between Aarey and BKC from over an hour by road to just 30 minutes. Fares range from Rs 10 to Rs 50 for a one-way ride.
