Every year, in an attempt to pay tribute to their ancestors, the Muslim community celebrates the festival of Shab-E-Baarat. The festival celebrated in remembrance of the ancestors, will be held on April 20 this year and as a part of which, the people will visit Masjids and Crematoriums. Accordingly, it is expected that the Haji Ali Dargah will be visited by thousands of devotees and in order to assist them, the Western Railway along with the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) will provide special transportation service.

The two institutions will run extra trains and buses respectively to ensure that the Muslim community don’t face hassle during the peak hour. Thus, the bus company will run extra buses in areas that have more Muslim crowd, i.e. Bhindi Bazaar, Mohammad Ali Road, Mazgaon, Dockyard Road, Shivaji Nagar, Trombay, Vikhroli, Santacruz, and Malvani. BEST will run seven additional buses on the Bus Route Number 887, 273, and 357.

On the other hand, Western Railways will run extra trains between Churchgate-Virar and Virar-Churchgate route. These trains will consist of local trains running between Saturday midnight and Sunday, one of which will depart at 2:35 am from Churchgate whereas the second train will depart at 1:42 from Virar.
