The number of passengers travelling through 'Versova - Andheri - Ghatkopar Metro 1' is increasing day by day. The number of daily passengers on this route crossed the five lakh mark on August 13. In the last 10 years, the total number of passengers travelling on the 'Metro 1' route has reached 100 crores.


The 'Metro 1' line, known as the first metro line in Mumbai, entered into traffic service in 2014. Initially, this metro line was not getting the response it should have been. Mumbai Metro One Private Limited (MMOPL), which owns, maintains and operates this line, has made various efforts to increase passenger demand. Many facilities have been developed. 'Dahisar - Andheri West Metro 2A' and 'Dahisar - Gundavali Metro 7' lines entered service. These lines are connected with 'Metro 1'. As a result of all this, the number of passengers started increasing in the last few months. That is why the number of daily passengers on the 'Metro 1' route has reached 4.5 lakh to 5.5 lakh.

On August 13, the number of daily passengers crossed the 5 lakh mark. 5 lakh 385 passengers travelled in 'Metro 1' on 13 August. This was the second daily record passenger count ever.


The number of daily passengers on the 'Metro 1' route is increasing and now the total number of passengers travelling on this route has also helped to increase. In the first week of June, when the 'Metro 1' route completed 10 years of service, the total number of passengers on this route reached the mark of 97 crores. MMOPL informed that the total number of passengers has crossed the 100 crore mark within two and a half months.
