Vande Bharat sleeper trains expected on tracks in two months

Following the success of the semi-high speed Vande Bharat trains, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that work on the first Vande Bharat sleeper train set is expediting, with the first train expected to run within two months. BEML Ltd are manufacturing the trains at their rail unit in Bengaluru. Vaishnaw added that Vande Bharat sleeper trains will increase commuter mobility and will provide a range of comforts.

Speaking on the train’s robust construction, Vaishnaw said the car body structure is crafted with high-grade Austenitic stainless steel, featuring crashworthy elements integrated into the crash buffers and couplers. The trains have been designed keeping  both aesthetics and functionality in mind.

The Vande Bharat sleeper version will incorporate advanced features such as special roofing, improved air conditioning, virus control mechanisms, and reduced jerks, noise, and vibrations.
