"This industry is not for the meek," says Special Ops 1.5 Actor Vivek Madaan

Being in the industry for over two decades, the popular and experienced TV actor has also managed to make an impeccable in the film industry as well with movies like Talaash, Kasganj, and a few others.

In an exclusive chat with Mumbai Live, Vivek Madaan said: “It has a been very enriching journey and I am now raring to surge ahead.”

Besides, he was recently seen playing an antagonist in Neeraj Pandey’s original web series Special OPS 1.5: The Himmat Story, featuring Kay Kay Menon.

“TV is the boot camp for testing your mettle as an actor. We shoot really long scenes and pages of dialogues at a frenzied pace in organised chaos. It trains you to stretch your limits and if fortune favours you someday and you have been afforded that golden chance in movies and OTT, you realise that you are so ready for the big game. It prepares you and toughens you up as an actor. After having endured the grind of television work, everything then on films and OTT feels like a walk in the park. I am perennially indebted in gratitude for all the producers who gave me my early gigs on TV,” the actor exclaimed.

When asked about what keeps him going even during a rough phase, he shared: “I am highly motivated as a working professional. This business is not for the meek. The rigours and demands on actors are immense and one needs to be thoroughly prepared to deliver the goods, because you never know when opportunity knocks at your door. In addition, a proper fitness and dietary routine are essential prerequisites to keep in shape: mentally & physically.”

Elaborating about his role in the film, the actor said, “Without revealing too much, I can safely say that I play Ajay Devgn’s best friend in the movie, who’s essentially responsible for triggering a chain of events, which causes the main drama in the movie.”

Ajay Devgn, Amitabh Bachchan, and Rakul Preet starring movie has been the talk of the town ever since it was announced. It will be released on April 29, 2022.

Sharing about his experience working with the legendary actors, Madaan expressed: “Ajay Sir is like a Big Brother to me. He works with absolute discipline and military precision. He was multi-tasking as the leading man, producer and director on Mayday yet he makes it look so easy.”

“I don’t have any scenes with Bachchan Saahab on this project. Though I did have the good fortune of having a shot with Big B in Raj Kumar Santoshi’s “Family: Ties of Blood”. On one of the days, Bachchan stopped by to introduce himself to me in a most magnanimous gesture and said ‘You do more ads than me. Keep up the good work son!’. To have been recognised by Bachchan Saahab and that too in such a manner is an indelible memory I shall carry to my grave.”

On the work front, Vivek Madaan has an exciting line up of prestigious projects on OTT & features, both in the 2021-2022. The projects include ‘Aranyak’ on Netflix, ‘Breaking’ with Endemol Shine, Family Man duo Raj and DK’s next ‘Sunny’ for Amazon Prime. He would also be a part of an upcoming spy thriller with Reliance Entertainment.
