A total of 168 vacancies will be filled by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and as per reports, the recruitment process has begun for the same. BPCL has invited applications from eligible candidates who can send their details online. The last date to apply for the same is July 20, 2021.

The notification released by the firm said, "Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd., Kochi Refinery, Ambalamugal, Kochi invites Online application from eligible Graduate & Diploma holders in Engineering (passed during 2019, 2O2O & 2021), for undergoing one year Apprenticeship training under the Apprenticeship (Amendmen! Act 1973."

Officials have informed that a total of 120 Graduate Apprentice positions will be filled. Candidates with an educational qualification of an Engineering degree in the relevant subject with 60 per cent marks can apply. Moreover, candidates from the SC, ST and PWD will be eligible if they have a score of 50 per cent.

Moreover, 48 positions for Technician (Diploma) Apprentice will be filled. Candidates with an engineering diploma in a related subject with a score of 60 will be eligible. Meanwhile, applications of candidates from SC, ST and PWD with 50 per cent marks will be considered.

Candidates should be within 18 to 27 years of age, on or before August 1, 2021. A difference of five years has been given for candidates with SC, ST certificate; and three years' difference if they belong to the OBC.

The pay scale for the positions would be in the range of INR 18,000 to INR 25,000. No application fee will be charged by BPCL, and selected candidates will be posted in Kochi (Kerala). 

Below-mentioned are other important details

Reservation of Vacancies: Guidelines under Apprentices Act on Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD will be followed. Those who are claiming reservation under SC/ST/OBC/PWD shall provide certificate as per the standard format prescribed by the Government, failing which their claim for reservation will be considered as 'General' category only. Candidates claiming reservation under OBC category should bring OBC certificate (Non-creamy layer) as per the Govt. prescribed format from the certificate issuing authority of Tahsildar. Applicable certificate need be produced at the time of interview.

Training Duration: The duration of Apprenticeship training will be for a period of one year as per Apprentices (Amendment) Act 1973

Previous Experience: Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship under Apprentices (Amendment) Act 1973, and/or having one year or more experience are not eligible to apply,

Selection Process: Selection will be based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and interview. The final merit list would be prepared according to categories. General, SC,ST, OBC, PWD on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates. Engagement for apprenticeship training will be subject to the selected candidates clearing the medical examination.

Application process:

For students who have already enrolled in the National Web Portal and having login details

After verification of student enrolment by BOAT (SR), a student will be able to login and apply. Following are the steps to be followed:

  • Login
  • Click Establishment Request Menu
  • Click Find Establishment
  • Upload Resume
  • Choose Establishment name
  • Type "Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd, Kochi Refinery" and search
  • Click apply
  • Click apply again

Students who have not so far enrolled in the National Web Portal should follow the below-mentioned steps:

  • Go to www. mhrdnats.gov.in
  • Click Enroll
  • Complete the application form
  • A unique Enrolment Number for each student will be generated.

Please note: Candidates will have to wait for at least one day for enrollment verification and approval, post which they can proceed to Step 2.
