The state government has taken government decisions from time to time for the safety of school children. Therefore, Thane Education Officer Balasaheb Rakshe, who was suspended after the incident of sexual molestation of two girls in Badlapur, failed to strictly implement these government decisions as an education officer. Moreover, the state government claimed in the High Court through an affidavit on Thursday that he tried to deflect responsibility by pointing fingers at other officials for reporting the incident late.
In this case, Rakshe will have to face the proposed departmental inquiry against him and prove the allegations against him wrong. The government has also claimed through an affidavit that they will be given full opportunity to defend themselves during this investigation. After the Badlapur incident, School Education Minister Deepak Kesarkar had announced the suspension of Rakshe. Rakshe had earlier approached the Maharashtra Administrative Tribunal (MAT) against it. Not getting immediate relief there, he petitioned the High Court.
Rakshe's plea came up for hearing on Thursday before a bench of Justice Anil Chandurkar and Justice Rajesh Patil. At that time, the State Government filed an affidavit and made the above claim against Rakshe. The government also said in the affidavit that Rakshe was wrong to challenge the suspension before the MAT. An appeal was also expected to be filed with the Governor against the order of suspension. But they have not appealed.
Until then, no new appointment!
While adjourning the hearing on Rakshe's plea on Friday, the court gave an oral order to the state government not to appoint anyone in his place until the next hearing.
