Chembur - Garden near Chembur’s Charai Lake has become a home for drug addicts. Initially, there were three lakes out of which, two lakes were closed down while remaining lake was kept as it is. To enhance the beauty of the lake, Swami Jayramdas Kunj garden was constructed by BMC. Also, 4 years back BMC planted many trees in this garden to attract people. But, for the last 2-3 years, BMC has not paid the light bill of this garden. Due to which, lights were cut off by electricity department. This has lead to drug addicts lurking in the garden. Even though residents have complained about the same, BMC is least bothered about the unpaid electricity bill.
