Maharashtra records 6,603 new cases of COVID-19

 On July 8 2020, Maharashtra recorded 6,603 new cases of coronavirus taking the total of the state to 2,23,724, out of which 91,065 patients are being treated. Further, 4,634 patients were cured taking the total number of cured patients to 1,23,192. The death toll in the state has reached 9,448.

The Maharashtra government has extended the lockdown till July 31, where several areas have been sealed as containment areas. Citizens have been asked to abide by all the rules as advised by the government. Testing and treatment facilities are also being developed and improved with an aim make it easier for people and the authorities, as the faster testing could improve the situation, thereby help the officials in identifying the positive cases.

The government also offered some relaxation in Mumbai as the COVID-19 testing norms were now revised where people will no longer be required to submit a prescription for the same.
