On Wednesday, September 13, the Food and Drug Administration raided South Mumbai's popular Bademia for serving unhygienic food. During the raid, FDA also found rats and cockroaches in the kitchen.

Following the raid, all outlets of Bademia have been asked to stop working. The FDA also discovered that the 76-year-old eatery did not possess license under the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India.
“The Bademia outlet was suddenly raided on Wednesday evening and all their outlets did not have license to operate. "However, we will be issuing a stop work notice and further action will be taken. Meanwhile, the investigation is still ongoing," an FDA official told the Free Press.
