According to reports, a blaze of a massive fire has been reported at Crawford Market, on Monday, August 17 at around 11 in the morning.
One of South Mumbai's most famous markets, the building was completed in 1869 and was donated to the city by Cowasji Jehangir. As per reports, fire-fighting operations are underway currently whereas eight fire tenders are present as of now in order to douse the fire. No casualties have been reported at the moment. However, more details on the accident and the cause of the fire break-out are awaited.
As per sources, the shop at Mohammad Ali Road, Sutar Chawl, beside Jumma Masjid, Bhendi Bazaar, caught fire in an unfortunate accident. This comes months after a level two fire broke out in the market area back in June.
