Free vaccination drive for students with confirmed admission in International Universities

The walk in vaccination drive will be held at Rajawadi, Cooper & Kasturba centres on May 31, June 1 and June 2, 2021. Students will have to present their confirmed admission letter and personal IDs to be eligible for the same.

The state government of Maharashtra, in a recently taken decision, announced that the students from Mumbai who have planned to visit the universities abroad for higher studies will have to get vaccinated before travelling. Centres will also be administering vaccines to these students on priority. 

The announcement was made on Friday, May 28, 2021, and officials from the government confirmed that currently, three centres - Rajawadi, Cooper and Kasturba - operated by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will be permitting these students for vaccination, but they will have to present their confirmed admission letter from international universities to the authorities. The process will be conducted over three days on from Monday to Wednesday, i.e. on May 31, June 1 and June 2, 2021.

Cabinet Minister Aaditya Thackeray took to Twitter to share the information with a message that read, "For students who have received confirmation of admission in universities abroad and require vaccines for the same, the @mybmc has arranged free, walk-in vaccination this coming Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (31st May, 1st, 2nd June) at 3 centres - Rajawadi, Cooper and Kasturba. The students need to carry I- 20 or DS- 160 form/verified confirmation letter to concerned foreign universities, along with personal ID documents. This admission and vaccine affecting careers, we are duty bound to vaccinate them in the required time."

Sharing more information, Aaditya Thackeray confirmed that he would also discuss the same with other civic bodies across the state with an aim to implement the same as it is important for the students to pursue their education for the career they desire.
