The Bombay High Court has ordered the Mumbai Police to provide security to an interfaith married couple. The court suspected that the Gujarat police would take the woman away with security. The judge has passed this order after talking to the couple.
Earlier, the woman told the judge that she married the man with her own will. He is married and is the father of three children. After marrying a married man, the woman had filed a petition seeking police protection saying that her and her husband's lives were in danger. A bench of Justice Revathi Mohite-Dere and Justice Prithviraj Chavan delivered the verdict on this petition on July 27.
The court said that the petitioners should be provided with armed security guards 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This security guard will remain with the petitioners till August 8, 2024. A security guard will accompany the petitioners wherever they go. The bench also directed the Narol police station in Ahmedabad not to take any action against the petitioners till the hearing of the matter.
A case has been registered against the young woman for stealing gold and money from the house
Advocates ML Kochrekar and Mohammad Ahmed Shaikh, who appeared in court for the couple, told the judge that “a false case of theft has been filed against our clients. The case has been filed after they got married.” During this hearing, the parents and brothers of the 24-year-old woman were present in the Bombay High Court along with the Gujarat Police.
The girl refuses to even meet her parents
Meanwhile, the woman told the bench that, “When I left my house on July 15, 2024, I did not take anything from the house. My parents gave me a gold chain along with earrings. I am ready to give them back the chain and earrings.” Meanwhile, the young woman categorically refused to return to her parents' home, and also refused to meet them.
