According to the latest reports, on late Tuesday evening, March 8, residents of certain parts of Dadar faced power cuts which resulted in immense inconvenience.

Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) official was quoted in accounts elaborating on how there was an interruption of electric supply in some parts of Dadar West area owing to the tripping of the National Hospital 11kv feeder at Sitladevi receiving substation.

The interruption was owing to the fault in the power transformer in the area, claimed narratives. Based on reports, the residents witnessed the power cuts from 6.35 pm to 7.45 pm.

This power cut comes in the backdrop of the outage faced in parts of Colaba on Monday, March 7. The cut reportedly commenced on late Sunday night, March 6. The same was restored phase-wise on Monday morning.

A BEST official elaborated on the cut was owing to a fault in three 11kv lines in Colaba because of which nearly 19 distribution substations were impacted, stated accounts.

Similarly, on February 27 many parts of Mumbai faced a power outage. The BEST PRO elucidated on how due to the tripping of the MSEB 220kv Transmission line on Mulund -Trombay the power supply to many parts of the city was affected

Against the backdrop of this, the Minister of Power, Nitin Raut announced a high-level probe into it. Now narratives are doing the rounds that the Maharashtra State Load Despatch Centre (MSLDC) issued a notice to Tata Power for "non-compliance" of its instructions" back on February 27 that resulted in a power outage in the city.

Responding to this, a Tata Power spokesperson was quoted in reports highlighting the said notice is part of the procedure and doesn't suggest any fault on their part.
