Uber has introduced a "Missed Flight Connection Cover" policy to offer up to INR 7,500 in compensation to those who miss flights due to traffic delays. This applies to both domestic and international travel. The company has partnered with Reliance General Insurance for this plan.

For this, passengers have to pay INR 3 extra per ride to avail the cover. The plan  includes coverage for OPD and medical expenses in case of an accident. However, the policy applies only if the destination is set as "airport" while booking.

Mumbai’s dug-up roads have made daily commutes difficult. Many residents struggle with long delays and road congestion. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is working on 701 kilometres of roads. To reduce inconvenience, it has decided to pause future digging plans.

Uber considers an estimated travel time of 90 to 120 minutes for claims. Passengers must provide specific documents to file a claim. This includes a signed claim form, booking reference number, and ride details. They must also submit their flight ticket, proof of missing the flight, a new ticket, and a refund certificate. A crossed cheque for NEFT transfer is also required.

Drivers working with aggregator taxis are also facing challenges. Many passengers blame them for delays caused by poor roads. During a recent meeting, members of the Maharashtra Rajya Rashtriya Kamgar Sangh (MRRKS) raised concerns.

Drivers complained about arguments and insults from frustrated passengers. They also pointed out issues with Uber’s estimated arrival times. The app often shows a shorter time, but actual travel takes longer due to road construction. Many drivers now avoid airport pickups because of long waiting times.

On Tuesday, March 11, taxi drivers at Mumbai airport went on strike. They protested against low fares and poor road conditions.
