Starting from July 1, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will impose a fine ranging from ₹5,000 to ₹10,000 on vehicles which are parked near or outside the ‘pay and park’ facility across Mumbai.
The criteria of the penalty imposed will be decided on the basis of the capacity of ‘pay and park’ facility. The civic body had made the announcement earlier saying that they will impose a penalty on vehicles parked under the one-kilometre radius of a pay and park facility.
The two-wheelers will be fined up to ₹5,000 while the illegal parking of a car will be liable for a fine up to ₹10,000. The BMC also stated that the daily penalty will also be imposed for delay in the redemption of the car. Moreover, if the redemption is delayed for over 30 days, BMC will auction the same.
