Aarey Conservation Group conducts a rally to raise awareness around saving trees

A rally was organized by the Aare Conservation Group on May 14 at 6.30 am, from the Shivaji Park of Dadar area to the Siddhivinayak Mandir and so as to spread the awareness around saving trees. Several members of the Aarey Conservation Group took an active part in the rally and had banners made for PM Modi and CM Devendra Fadnavis.

Carrying banners with such statements, Members of Aarey Conservation Group held a rally from Shivaji Park to Siddhivinayak Temple. Subhash Talekar, spokesperson of the Mumbai Dabbawala Association was also involved in this rally.

Priya Mishra, a member of Aare Conservation Group, says that instead of the Aarey for Metro 3 project, that as per the report there is enough space for the project of Metro-3. Hence, the government should think of a certain mid-path.  She further added, ‘We want that no more trees are cut off in Aarey. The practice is such that the trees are cut and then the buildings are constructed but why not raze the buildings and then plant trees.  Just the way we started a movement for saving water because of the inadequate water supply, we wish to raise awareness around saving trees by our this campaign.”
