Section of the highway between Nivli and Hatkhamba on the Mumbai-Goa highway washed away

It is true that the rains have been active in the state for a week, but still many districts have received much less than average rainfall. 11 districts in the state have received less than average rainfall. However, along with Mumbai, Thane, Vasai, Virar are experiencing heavy rains.

Thane city has received record rainfall on Wednesday. 200 mm of rain has been recorded in the Thane area in the last 24 hours. On the Mumbai-Goa highway, the road has become muddy in the first rain. While the alternate road of Kashti and Vaitagwadi villages in Khardi in Shahapur taluka has been washed away.

Nivli to Hatkhamba road on Mumbai-Goa highway is closed

Meanwhile, traffic on the Mumbai-Goa highway had come to a standstill due to a landslide in Parshuram Ghat. However, if there is heavy rain here, there is still a fear of more landslides. The first rain today has washed away the section of the highway between Nivli and Hatkhamba. So the traffic is slow from this place. In the first rains, the alternative road to Kashti and Vaitagwadi villages in Khardi in Shahapur taluka was washed away.

Samruddhi highway work is going on in this village. Therefore, an alternative road has been constructed to reach the village. However, due to the rains, the road is covered with mud. In addition, a part of the road was washed away during the rain yesterday, so the villagers as well as the students have to cross the road through the JCB.
