Baba Siddique murder case: Police establish a link between the conspirator and shooters, arrest one in Haryana

The police have been able to reveal the link between Gurmail Singh and Mohammad Zeeshan Akhtar, who were involved in the shooting and murder conspiracy of former minister Baba Siddique.


Amit Hisamsingh Kumar (29) was arrested by the Crime Branch on Wednesday for his involvement in the conspiracy to kill Siddique. He was produced before the court where he was remanded to police custody. This is the 11th arrest in this case. Amit Kumar is a resident of Nathwan Patti, Kaithal Taluka, Haryana. He was in touch with Mohammad Zeeshan Akhtar, who plotted to kill Siddique. On Akhtar's request, he asked Gurmail to participate in the murder of Baba Siddique. 


Four cases have been registered against Amit Kumar in Haryana, involving fighting. Sources said that no serious case has been registered against the accused. Preliminary investigation has revealed that some of the money from the murder conspiracy reached the accused. The officer said that this investigation is currently underway. The official further added that investigation is also underway to determine which criminal gang the accused belongs to.


Along with this, search is on for Shiv Kumar alias Shiva Gautam who shot at Siddique along with Mohammad Zeeshan Akhtar who helped the accused and Shubham Lonkar involved in the conspiracy. The police have issued a look out circular to arrest them. Two pistols, three magazines, 28 cartridges, five mobiles, two Aadhaar cards were seized from the arrested accused. Both the arrested accused Bhagwat Singh and Ram Kanojia had gone to Udaipur in July. The accused had brought two foreign made pistols from there which were used to kill Siddique. Dharmaraj Kashyap and Gurmail Singh, two of those who fired at Siddique, were arrested from the spot. Praveen Lonkar, who helped them, was arrested by the Crime Branch from Pune. In this way, 11 people have been arrested so far.

Amount deposited in the accused's bank account

Amit had arranged a stay for Zeeshan Akhtar in Kaithal in Haryana, where he provided other facilities and money. After his release from prison in June 2024, Zeeshan changed his residence. A native of Jalandhar, Zeeshan moved to Kaithal in Haryana after he received the supari for Siddique's murder. In Haryana, Zeeshan and Amit came in contact through a friend. After the two talk about murdering Baba Siddique, Amit arranges a stay for Zeeshan in Kaithal, Haryana. Zeeshan withdrew money from Amit's bank account. Accordingly, Amit withdrew the money eight times after receiving the money in his bank account and gave it to Zeeshan. 


It has been revealed in the investigation that Zeeshan passed on some of the amount to Praveen Lonkar in Pune through different ways. Amit was aware of the plan of killing Baba Siddique's and was also involved in the conspiracy as well.

Zeeshan Akhtar never came to Mumbai

The conspiracy to kill Baba Siddique was hatched by Zeeshan Akhtar. He carried out the assassination plot through various means. But Zeeshan never came to Mumbai. 


Liquor business, education till 12th

Amit, who lives in Kaithal in Haryana, has a record of four to five crimes in his name. Amit, who studied till 12th, used to run a liquor store. Through a friend, Amit came in contact with Zeeshan, who had a serious criminal record. Then he sheltered Zeeshan in Kaithal and provided all facilities.
