The High Court on Wednesday ordered the Registrar General's Office to list before the appropriate bench the petition filed by Satish Salian, seeking an inquiry into the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput's former manager Disha Salian.

Satish Salian's petition came up for hearing on Wednesday before a bench of Justice Revati Mohite-Dere and Justice Neela Gokhale. At that time, Salian's lawyers pointed out to the court that since the petition related to crimes against women, it was expected to be heard before a bench headed by Justice Sarang Kotwal. Taking cognizance of this, the bench passed the above order.

Disha Salian died on June 8, 2020, after falling from the 14th floor of a residential building in Malad. The police had registered an accidental death in this case. A few days later, on June 14, 2020, actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Bandra apartment.

The police initially registered a case of suicide by Sushant. However, the case was handed over to the CBI after Sushant's family alleged that he had not committed suicide but was murdered. After that, Disha was also murdered and Shiv Sena (Thackeray faction) MLA Aaditya Thackeray was accused of being involved in the case.

Disha's family had denied the allegations of her murder at the time. They had also filed an affidavit in the court to that effect. However, Disha's father Satish has now moved the High Court claiming that Disha was murdered. Also, a CBI inquiry has been demanded in this matter. Apart from this, Satish Salian has also made a major demand to register a murder case in this case and to arrest former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray along with Aditya Thackeray, actress Rhea Chakraborty and others as accused.

Disha was gang-raped and later murdered. Salian also claimed in the petition that the case was suppressed to protect some influential people involved in the case. The petition alleges that the Mumbai Police hastily closed the case, declaring Disha's death a suicide or an accidental death, without considering forensic, circumstantial evidence, and eyewitness testimony.
