Over the last few weeks, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has been investigating and finding links with he drug rackets and Bollywood.
On Sunday, November 8, NCB conducted a day-long search at filmmaker Firoz A Nadiadwala's house and arrested Nadiadwala's wife Shabana Saeed, 20, and five others. Further, officials have confirmed that they will also be questioning Firoz in the case and the bureau has summoned him for questioning.
The NCB conducted search operations in Malad, Andheri, Lokhandwala, Kharghar, Koparkhairane and other areas throughout the day. Earlier, Abdul Waheed alias Sultan Mirza was arrested by NCB officials from Azad Nagar area of Andheri.
As per reports, 750 grams of cannabis, 75 grams of hashish and three grams of Mephedrone (MD) were seized from his car. Besides this, cash amounting to INR 1.75 lakhs has also been seized. Officials have been able to link contact numbers of some high profile people living in Versova, Lokhandwala and Yari Road areas. It is said that Sultan's inquiries into the matter helped them conclude that he had sold cannabis to Shabana.
Based on this information, a search operation was conducted at Gulmohar Cross Lane in JVPD, where they found 10 grams of cannabis bought from the Sultan.
The NCB then sent a notice to Shabana Saeed and recorded her reply, after which, she was finally arrested in the case. So far, a total of 717 grams of cannabis, 74.1 grams of hashish and 95.1 grams of mephedrone have been seized in the case, costing over 3.58 lakh.
The NCB has so far arrested five drug peddlers in the case, and are investigating the matter further. The team is looking for other high profile people who are in touch with Sultan Mirza.M
