A five-year-old boy died after drowning in a water tank on the roof of a building in the Malad area. The deceased child has been identified as Abdul Rahim Riaz Shaikh (5). He lived with his family in Malvani MHADA Colony.

Abdul left the house on Monday afternoon saying he was going to play with his neighbours. After a long time, he did not return home. Eventually his family started searching for him. He also asked the neighbors. Abdul had come with a mobile phone. But then he left, neighbours said. Neighbours and family started searching for Abdul.

Meanwhile, a little girl noticed that the lid of the water tank on the terrace was open. When she peeked inside, she found Abdul in the tank. He was rushed to the hospital. But he had already died. Senior Police Inspector Shailesh Nagarkar informed that Malvani Police has registered a case of accidental death in this case.
