There has been a huge increase in cyber crimes in the country. Cases of blackmailing citizens through WhatsApp, phone, message or other media have also come to light. Something similar has happened in Mumbai. For a 53-year-old woman, ordering food has become quite expensive. This woman was cheated by cyber thieves of INR 87k.


What exactly is the case?

A woman from Mumbai ordered food online. For this, the cyber thugs provided a link to send money. First, they asked the woman to deposit INR 5. As soon as the woman clicked on the link, INR 87k was deducted from her account in no time.


The woman had registered a case at the Gaondevi police station in Mumbai on January 7. After two months, the police have arrested three people. These three persons were arrested by Gaon Devi Police from Jharkhand. The police have informed that a case has been registered against them under the Information and Technology Act, as reported by Free Press Journal.
