Popular actor and dancer, Shantanu Maheshwari's fans, have something to look forward to. After releasing a number of series on ALTBalaji, the team is now all set to launch the next exciting offering Medically Yourrs. The show focuses on the struggles medical students face frequently, and throws light on the challenges, the pressures of not just performance but simply surviving on the journey the of becoming a doctor.
In an interaction with MumbaiLive, Shantanu Maheshwari shares his views on the show and tells us about the journey of living the life of a medical student onscreen. Talking about the same, Shantanu Maheshwari, shared, “With the title of the show one can understand that it is about medical students and their lives revolving around struggle, aim, pressure and a lot more. There are different gangs and characters in the show, and Medically Yourrs will focus on their individual problems. I play Abir Basu, who is fun-loving, naive and loves music. I belong to a family of doctors and my dad wishes that I become the same too. But my passion is different, and so it will focus on those aspects where Abir oscillates between both the sides of his life.”
Adding more about the preparation for the show, he said, "It was a bit difficult, as I fell sick during the shoots too. I did have to try smoking and it was a task to smoke, but I had to do justice to my character. I have seen a lot of medical students and the life they live with. My observations helped me, and so it came easy. However, I understood and learned a lot from the same. But otherwise, it was an interesting experience, as the character is very real. Learning Bengali was not a problem at all, as I'm very much acquainted with the same."
On being asked if his perception about medical students and the subject changed, he said, "Absolutely. This show helped me understand that these students don't have a serious life always. During the research about the show, and through observations and interactions, I could clear the air. I used to believe that they have a very different student life to ours, which is not true. They definitely have a lot to study, but they also have fun. But I must say that Medically Yourrs changed my perception about the medical students."
The show also features actors Bijay Anand, Shubhaavi Choksey, Ivan Rodrigues in pivotal roles, and it revolves around Abir Basu, played by Shantanu Maheshwari, who lives under the immense pressure of proving himself worthy in the eyes of his doctor father.
