Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla wrote a letter to his state counterparts stating that the thermal screening will be compulsory at all exam centres and wearing face masks by teachers, staff and students will be a must.
Moreover, no examination will be allowed in the containment zones and provision for sanitisers at the exam centres should be done. Importantly, social distancing should be practised in the examination halls or centres.
Earlier, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) said that the pending exams for the two classes - 10 and 12 - will be conducted between July 1 and July 15. A total of 29 exams are pending for both the classes.
Under the lockdown guidelines, the opening of schools and colleges has been prohibited. This also resulted in the suspension of annual board examination conducted by State Education Boards or CBSE or ICSE for Class 10 and 12.
