Actor Anushka Sharma and cricketer Virat Kohli pulled out a man who littered on the road. Kohli recorded Anushka schooling the man and posted it on social media.
In the video, Sharma saw a person throwing a piece of plastic from his car and schooled him for littering on the road.
Saw these people throwing garbage on the road & pulled them up rightfully. Travelling in a luxury car and brains gone for a toss. These people will keep our country clean? Yeah right! If you see something wrong happening like this, do the same & spread awareness. @AnushkaSharma pic.twitter.com/p8flrmcnba

After the video went viral, the duo were praised for their civic awareness but at the same time, they were trolled and criticised for shaming the man publicly.
Along with others, the man - Arhhan Singh - who was at the receiving end, put up a post against Anushka Sharma on Facebook criticising her for her action.
Singh’s mother too posted on Instagram, defending her son’s actions and criticising Sharma and Kohli.
Meanwhile, the Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju has come out in defence of 'Virushka' adding that the couple does not need any publicity.
Social media users had a mixed response to the video. Some supported the duo’s act while some called it a "publicity stunt".C'mon, Virat & Anushka need publicity!! They would rather crave for privacy!! Our conduct reflects our mentality. Civic sense is social ethics and ethical behaviour doesn't come with wealth & education. Let's keep India clean. #SwachhBharat

#AnushkaSharma has executed her cleanliness battle in the wrong way. I feel for the guy in the car.Yes he was wrong to throw litter but placing the footage on social media is wrong. Imagine how it'll affect him?Simply talking to him politely without any video would've been better

I applaud #anushkasharma for taking efforts to do something when she noticed someone was doing something wrong. She could have just drove away but she didn't. It makes me sad that some mindless people can find some negativity in this as well.

If someone is giving an important message to the society then let's troll her.
