India’s first Netflix original Web Series, Sacred Games has created a buzz across the country and become quite popular due to its unabashed content. However, the show seems to have run into trouble regarding a dialogue. On July 10, Congress member Rajiv Sinha had filed a complaint against Nawazuddin Siddiqui for "abusing" former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi at Girish Park Police station in Kolkata.

Today, Mumbai Congress filed a complaint for the same reason at Versova Police station.

Akhilesh Yadav, State General Secretary of the Mumbai State Youth Congress said,

The online video streaming platform, Netflix, which is broadcasting the web series Sacred Games has a scene where Nawazuddin has made extremely objectionable comments against Rajiv Gandhi Ji. Rajiv Gandhi has been awarded Bharat Ratna and such lewd comments against him are intolerable, so the series should be closed immediately and a case should be lodged against Netflix, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the producers of the show Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane.”

The senior investigating officer of Versova police, Ravindra Badgujar said that only after the investigation of the case, further action will be taken. Earlier, Rajiv Sinha had also alleged that Nawazuddin has used objectionable words against former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
