Khar’s police inspector Rajendra Kane has brought in an idol in the form of a 'police inspector' at his Andheri residence. The idol is an exact replica of a policeman with a pistol and a uniform. The Bappa also has a nameplate which says Shree Ganesha. Not only idol but the décor is of the police station with jail in the backdrop.
My objective behind this is to create awareness with regards to drug trafficking. I have made short films regarding the same and will be showcasing it during the immersion procession on a large LED screen,” Rajendra Kane, Police Inspector.
Kane always wanted to bring in Bappa idol in the form of police inspector since many years but he was not able to find the right sculptor. Finally, his search was over at Vile Parle where he found a sculptor who would do justice to his idea and sculpt the idol.
