On the lines of the ‘Hindu Hruday Samrat Balasaheb Thakeray Clinic’ health scheme, MHADA has now also decided to implement the 'Aapla Dawakhana' scheme in its MHADA colonies. Accordingly, the 'Aapla Dawakhana' scheme will be implemented in 34 colonies of MHADA to provide medical facilities at subsidised rates to the residents and general public. For this, the MHADA has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with 'One Rupee Clinic', a private organisation called 'Magic Deal Health for All'. The agreement was signed in the presence of MHADA Vice Chairman Sanjeev Jaiswal, Mumbai Board Chief Officer Milind Borikar, Dr. Rahul Ghule and Dr. Amol Ghule of 'One Rupee Clinic'. This scheme will be launched soon and will be a big relief for MHADA residents.
Decisions based on social awareness
The MHADA, which has the primary responsibility of providing affordable housing to the common man, implements many initiatives, including housing construction, based on social awareness. The Mumbai Board has provided 100 houses in Parel for housing facilities to cancer patients and their relatives. MHADA was also instrumental in setting up a Corona center in Corona. Moreover, MHADA is setting up hostels for school students and working women, along with old age homes, in Mumbai and Thane.
