Coronavirus cases in Mumbai have reduced significantly, and over the last few weeks, the recovery rate has improved too. As per the data released by the state health department and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the doubling rate in Mumbai has increased to 392 days.
The civic body has been able to control the COVID-19 cases in the city. Reports reveal that a total of 530 new patients were found in Mumbai on Sunday, January 17, 2021, and seven patients died due to the infection. Moreover, 715 patients recovered on Sunday.
So far, over 3 lakh Mumbaikars have been infected with coronavirus and the recovery rate in the city has reached 94 per cent with more than 2.8 lakh patients being cured. Furthermore, a total of 11,242 patients have died and 6,772 patients are undergoing treatment across various hospitals. The COVID-19 growth rate has remained stable at 0.21 per cent.
So far 25 lakh 96 thousand 790 tests have been conducted in Mumbai. The number of restricted areas in Mumbai has increased to 131. Two thousand 326 buildings have been sealed.
