It is mandatory for officers and employees working in the police force to undergo regular medical examinations. Testing should be done only in hospitals approved by the Public Health Department. For the convenience of police officers and staff of Mumbai and Konkan divisions, medical examinations in three private hospitals have been approved considering 'exceptional cases'. .


Medical examination of Home Department officers and employees in the age group of 40 to 50 years is mandatory once in two years and every year for all officers and employees in the age group of 51 years and above. This test will have to be done only in recognised hospitals or special hospitals for the police.

Police medical examination in Mumbai division is conducted at Nagpada Police Hospital, Naigaon Sub Police Hospital and 12 dispensaries as well as some government hospitals. But now the state government has decided to include three more private hospitals in it. Therefore, three new hospitals have been included in the list of hospitals in Mumbai and Konkan divisions for medical examination of police officers and staff of the Home Department.


Includes Apollo Clinics in Vashi, Andheri (East) and Nashik. The government has approved medical examinations in these three hospitals. Also, the Home Department has approved reimbursement of INR 5,000 to each officer and employee for medical check-up in these private hospitals as an 'exceptional case'. Therefore, from now on, police officers and employees of Mumbai and Konkan divisions under the Home Department will be able to undergo medical tests in private hospitals.
