More than 11,000 homes were sold in Mumbai in June

In June, 11,569 houses were sold in Mumbai. The state government has received a revenue of INR 1001 crores in the form of stamp duty from this house sale. 12k houses were sold in May. Compared to that, there has been a slight decrease in house sales in June, although the house sale of eleven and a half thousand is the highest house sale in June in the last twelve years.


After the Corona epidemic, the need for affordable housing has arisen which has increased the house sales. Meanwhile, a large number of redevelopment projects are currently underway in Mumbai and a large number of new houses are being made available through them. Accordingly, house sales have been increasing in the last two-three years. Even in 2024, good growth is seen in home sales. Around 10,000 to 14,000 houses have been sold every month.

10,967 houses were sold in January, 12,056 in February, 11,648 in April and 12k in May. The highest number of home sales in 2024 was in March. In March, 14,149 houses were sold and it generated the highest revenue of INR 1,123 crore. Home sales have been satisfactory in June as well. In June, 11,569 houses were sold in Mumbai and stamp duty of INR 1001 crore was collected. During the rainy season i.e. in June-July, there is a decrease in house sales. That's why house sales have been highest in June compared to the previous 12 years. 


Between June 2013 and June 2014, 4,800 houses were sold. Whereas from June 2015 to June 2022, house sales were in the range of 5k to 10k. Homes in the western and central suburbs were more in demand in June, while 500-1000 square feet houses have been sold the most.
