Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday, February 20, urged the Centre to change the office hours replacing the present 10 am to 5 pm timing. He argued that there is a need to change this mindset.

CM Thackeray was speaking at the Niti Aayog meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through a video conference. He also asked the Centre to urgently formulate policies like promoting healthy competition among states to attract investments, make agriculture conducive to climate change and focus on more research in horticulture and various crops.

Despite the coronavirus pandemic, the Maharashtra government has signed MoUs with a proposed investment of more than INR 1 lakh crore, said Thackeray.

Although the BharatNet project has been initiated to provide Internet connectivity to remote areas, still 2,500 villages in Maharashtra, there is no mobile or Internet facility, Thackeray said. The chief minister assured that the state would offer all necessary support to improve communication and connectivity across distant villages and hamlets.

Further, CM emphasized that the farmers affected by the natural calamities should get due compensation and the insurance companies should change their profit and loss ratio.
