Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Chief Raj Thackeray meets Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai, today.

As per reports, Thackeray spoke to the Governor regarding the inflated power bills. The MNS Chief in a statement stated that even though earlier he had spoken to Nitin Raut regarding the same, no action has been taken as of now. Furthermore, he requested the state government to take a stand regarding the issue in two days.

According to sources, MNS leaders Bala Nandgaonkar, Nitin Sardesai, Avinash Jadhav, Shirish Sawant, Rita Gupta and other office-bearers had earlier arrived at Krishnakunj for a meeting with Raj Thackeray. Moreover, Raj Thackeray is said to speak to the Governor regarding public interest issues. In addition, Thackeray is expected to discuss the issue of microfinance companies as well.

Amidst the coronavirus-induced lockdown, several people had reached Krishnakunj to address issues which includes Mumbai's Dabbawalas, Trimbakeshwar's priests, senior citizens, Koli women, a delegation of doctors, women's self-help groups and many others who had appealed to Raj Thackeray for help. From time to time Raj Thackeray had written letters to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray with regards to issues suffered by these groups.

Moreover, this meeting happens to be significant as it comes at a time when a passive-aggressive war is brewing between Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. Earlier, the issue of reopening temples in Maharashtra had led to a war of words between the Governor and the CM.
