Amid growing about work-life balance, a Mumbai company recently posted an ad with bizarre requirements for the job role has caught the attention of everyone.

The post came at a time when Indians are speaking out against toxic offices, spurred on by the shocking death of a 26-year-old Ernst & Young (EY) employee in Pune.

Hexaware BPS posted a job vacancy along with a list of qualifications for prospective candidates for a Senior Executive in Talent Acquisition at its Navi Mumbai office in Loma.

The Reddit post originated from Naukri.com stated that Hexaware BPS is offering a salary package between ₹2.75 and 3.75 lakhs per annum.

The post on Reddit was shared by a forum named, “Recruiting Hell." The requirements started with standard expectations - the interested candidate should have experience in the BPO industry, be able to manage client relationships, have a go-getter personality, and be able to carry out market intelligence research etc.

However, what gained the listing so much attention was the bizarre request stating: “Personal life should be sorted with no baggage.”

This intriguing statement has led to various reactions, prompting many to question the implications of such a stipulation in the hiring process.

The post has got severe backlash from users.

One user wrote, “Employers need to be legally forced to treat employees with basic respect." Another added, “India, so not surprised. The professional work/life imbalance over there is reaching Japan levels. See: the two EY suicides over work stress."

Another remarked, “Need to work due to poverty? Unsolved personal issues, come back when you're a millionaire.”

Some other commented, “red flag alert! management has personal life with baggage."

Many said they were not surprised to see that this requirement came from an Indian company.

“India, so not surprised. The professional work/life imbalance over there is reaching Japan levels,” wrote one Reddit user. “And of course it is from India. As an Indian I just couldn't stress how toxic the workplace in India is,” another added.

"I'm not at all surprised by this. Companies started telling people where they can be in their off hours and what they're allowed to post on social media. no one should be shocked they want to control the rest of your life outside of work, too. They already pushed the boundary and know people will accept it with minimal complaint", a netizen wrote.

“I hope they’re paying 100% for therapy then and providing weekly hour long slots for therapy," one user joked.
