On February 13, Tuesday, Railways put up an exhibition at Mumbai's Bandra station where rare artefacts along with informative panels and running train models were opened for display for the public. The exhibition was the part of Railways' initiative, the Heritage Week in February.
The exhibition was held at the Bandra station building which is an amalgamation of Victorian Gothic and vernacular style with its bilaterally symmetrical front facade.

The panels on display consisted of various elements such as Mumbai's initial days of rail transport. The rare photographs of the past were also displayed along with the old timings of trains between Churchgate-Virar, Bandra & Victoria Terminus (now CSMT).
Bandra station, which was built in 1888, is being revamped at a really slow pace due to its heritage status. Four years after the decision to renovate the station, Railways has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation to refurbish the station.
