To make the journey of local train commuters on more comfortable and convenient, the Central Railway Administration has taken another important decision.
Presently 12 coach and 15 coach EMU trains stop at different halt boards at different stations on main line (fast corridor). However, in order to bring uniformity in halting pattern and avoid confusion, Mumbai Division Central Railway has decided to halt local train services of 12 coach and 15 coach at common halt board at every station.

This decision will bring a lot of relief to the passengers traveling on the main line. Along with this, a lot of time of the passengers will also be saved.
Meanwhile, in order to provide convenience to daily commuters of local trains and avoid overcrowding trains during peak hours, the Mumbai division’s Western Railways (WR) has decided to augment 26 additional services from 12-car to 15-car coaches with effect from November 21, 2022. With this, the total number of 15-car services will increase from 106 to 132.
Besides, in an initiative to provide better train services & accommodate more passengers in trains over Mumbai Suburban section, Western Railways (WR) has decided to convert 12 local train services of 12-car to 15-car services, 6 services each in both directions.
