On the occasion of the upcoming Navratri festival, Thane Traffic Police has implemented several traffic changes in a bid to keep the traffic running smooth.
Accordingly, traffic changes have been made at Tembhi Naka and Durgadi forts in Thane to avoid possible traffic jams due to the festival. According to sources, these changes will be effective from October 17 to 25.
The changes made have been listed below:
- Vehicles heading towards Tower Naka from Gadkari Chowk have been barred from entering Vasant Hotel. Vehicles on this route will be released from Gadkari Chowk via Stone School.
- Vehicles heading towards Bhavani Chowk, Tembhi Naka from Charai have been barred from entering Dhobiali. They will be released from Sonumia Road, Dhobiali Mosque.
- To avoid traffic congestion on Tembhinaka, vehicles heading towards the district hospital from Thane railway station have been barred from entering Towarnaka. Vehicles on this route will leave from Towernaka via Gadkari Chowk, Almeida Chowk.
- Vehicles travelling from Minatai Thackeray Chowk to Thane railway station area have been prohibited from entering the district hospital premises. Vehicles on this route will be released from Courtnaka via Jambhalinaka towards the railway station.
- Vehicles heading towards Tembinaka from Courtnaka have been halted. Access to the Babasaheb Ambedkar statue has been closed.
- Heavy vehicles going from Lalchowki to Durgamata Chowk to Bhiwandi will be barred from entering Lalchowki to avoid road congestion near Durgadi fort in Kalyan. Vehicles on this route will be diverted from Lal Chowk via Aadharwadi Chowk, Gandhari.
- Heavy vehicles coming from Bhiwandi towards Lal Chowk will take a left turn from Durgamata Chowk and pass through Wadeghar Chowk, Adharwadi Chowk.
- Light vehicles coming from Patripul to Durgadi Chowk via Govindwadi bypass road and from Durgadi Chowk to Patripul will be barred from entering after 4 pm. Vehicles from here will pass through Agra Road, Patripul, Shivaji Chowk, Lalchowki. They will also go from Durgadi to Lalchowki, Shivaji Chowk, Vallipeer.
