The Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd (MMMOCL) has announced an extension of its metro services during the upcoming Navratri festival, celebrated for nine days, which will began from October 3 and end on October 11. However, additional metro services will be provided between October 7 to October 11, 2024.
This step is taken to cater to the increased demand from late-night commuters and to ensure smooth and safe travel for citizens attending Navratri celebrations across the city.
For these 5 days, 12 additional trips will be operated daily at 15-minute intervals after 11 pm, increasing the total number of trips from 282 to 294.
MMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner Dr Sanjay Mukherjee announced this emphasizing the importance of enhancing transportation services to accommodate increased demand during the festive period.
Sanjay Mukherjee, Chairman, MMMOCL said, "Navratri is a festival that brings people and all devotees together and it is our responsibility. By expanding metro train services to provide efficient and safe transport to citizens, we are ensuring that during the late night festival An easy and comfortable travel option is available to passengers.
