Thane: Passengers can now book bus tickets using a mobile app

The mobile app 'Majhi TMT', which provides various facilities to the passengers of Thane transport service, was recently launched by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. With this app, passengers will get the facility to purchase digital tickets through UPI. At present, this facility has been started on some bus routes. It will be made available to passengers on all TMT bus routes in a phased manner.


Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Friday October 11, 2024 inaugurated Dharmveer Anand Dighe Library and Bookstore. The mobile app 'Majhi TMT' of Thane Municipal Transport Service was also launched at the same place. On the occasion, Chief Minister Shinde saw a demo of the method of taking tickets through this mobile app and its verification by the bus conductor. Chief Minister Shinde asserted that this is a good facility for passengers.

Through this mobile app, passengers can purchase digital tickets using UPI. Also, payment can be made using debit card, credit card, and net banking. Similarly, this app also has the facility to inform the passengers about where and at what time the bus will arrive at the stop. Passengers will also get information about the bus route, the available buses on that route, the ticket fare required by filling the information about the starting point and destination of the journey on the app.

The TMT management also hopes that the digital ticketing system will reduce cash handling by conductors and avoid disputes between passengers and conductors due to lack of spare cash. Currently, this facility of ticketing through the app has been started on some bus routes. The TMT management said that it will be made available to passengers on all TMT bus routes in a phased manner.
