Mumbai: Due to low response, the Vistadome coach of Mumbai Central- Ahmedabad has been removed

Mumbai: Due to low response, the Vistadome coach of Mumbai Central- Ahmedabad has been removed

Vistadome coaches are attached to railway trains so that passengers can see waterfalls, rivers, streams, green groves while travelling by train during monsoons. So passengers can see the whole nature through the large window.


However, Western Railway has decided to remove the Vistadome of Train No. 12933 Mumbai Central – Ahmedabad and Train No. 12934 Ahmedabad – Mumbai Central Express running on Western Railway. The Western Railway administration informed that the Vistadome coaches are being removed from Tuesday due to low response from passengers.

Across the Indian Railways network, as many as 45 trains are being operated with Vistadome coaches in their composition.

Since 1994, the Mumbai Ahmedabad Shatabdi Express has been running and in 2021, the service was extended till Gandhinagar. After 28 years of service in 2022,  it got an upgrade in the form of 2 new vista dome coaches.  Each coach had the capacity of carrying a total of 44 passengers. They were reclining seats, and could rotate 90 degrees.
