According to the latest reports, massive traffic congestion was seen on the Western Express Highway (WEH) on Tuesday, June 28 at nearly 8.30 am.
Several commuters took to Twitter to share their woes. It has been reported that an accident resulted in traffic. A truck has reportedly overturned on the WEH.
The mishap is believed to have transpired near the Vakola bridge. Some claim that it occurred near the Teachers Colony stretch of the highway in Bandra.

Officials from the Mumbai Traffic Police were quoted in narratives elucidating that the truck was carrying industrial generators. It is believed to have lost control, causing it to turn to the side on the WEH's southbound lane. However, no injuries were reported in the accident.

Due to an accident, vehicular movement is slow at Teachers Colony, Bandra.

Owing to this, commuters who were southbound were stuck in traffic. The traffic reached Goregaon and after a point even reached Malad.
Similarly, travellers complained that intense vehicular congestion was witnessed between Khar and Goregaon. Some on the other hand shared that while the southbound traffic has been completely stopped, the northbound traffic is also congested.
Intense congestion is being witnessed till the Mahim turn. Some even claimed to have been stuck in traffic for over an hour. Cranes are reportedly attempting to move the truck.
In light of this, commuters have been advised to make use of alternate roads.
Later in the day, Mumbai airport took to Twitter to share that owing to the heavy congestion on the WEH few flights were delayed or rescheduled. They have thus asked all passengers to check with their respective airlines on their scheduled flights today.
