As the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) workers strike enters the eighth day, the Bombay High Court is ready to hear the matter on Tuesday. BEST workers union initiated the strike while pressing their demands on January 7 midnight.
Earlier on January 14, Bombay High Court heard the petition filed by Datta Mane against the ongoing BEST strike and asked the high-level committee appointed by Maharashtra government to submit its report on January 15.
While hearing the petition, Chief Justice Naresh Patil and Justice Nitin Jamdar slammed the BEST union for causing inconvenience to the public and said that they have violated its order by not negotiating appropriately.

Earlier on January 11, Maharashtra government informed Bombay HC that a high-level committee has been formed to end the ongoing BEST strike and to rectify the wrongs. Almost 32,000 BEST employees are on strike while 3,700 BEST buses are absent from the Mumbai roads. The court will hear the matter on Tuesday.
