Mumbai recorded 1,390 new cases of coronavirus on Friday. 69,340 patients have made full recovery from the disease. The total number of active Coronavirus cases in Mumbai stands at 24,057. 803 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours. With the addition of the numbers on Friday, the total number of coronavirus cases in Mumbai stands at 99,164. More than 5 thousand deaths have been recorded in the city to date.
According to the data shared by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) 62 deaths were recorded in one day. 55 had co-morbidities. 43 patients were male and 19 females. 2 deaths were of people below the age of 40 years, 35 deaths were of people above the age of 60 years, and 25 were between the age of 40 to 60 years.
The recovery rate of the Mumbai district is at 70 per cent which has been increasing gradually and the overall growth rate (July 11- July 16) is 1.34 per cent. More than 4 lakh tests have been done till July 16, 2020.
The total number of containment zones including chawls and slums is 700 and the active number of sealed buildings is 6,003.
A strict lockdown has been imposed in containment areas and people have been advised to venture out only to buy essentials or in case of an emergency. Wearing a mask and maintaining the norms of social distancing have to be strictly followed. The total number of coronavirus cases in Maharashtra stands at 2,92,589.
